The last week release of Mollywood, Chappa Kurishu, which turned out to be a failure in the box office is now facing a new controversy after its release. According to the latest reports, the screenplay of the film Chappa Kurishu is a pure copy of Screenplay written by Anwar Abdulla, who is a novelist. It is Anwar who himself published and shared the screenplay of chappa Kurishu in the web as an e-mail suggesting that it is his script made as the film. After reading the screenplay which is attached with the forwarded e-mails, we can claim that the screen play is a straight lift of the original one by Anwar( if it is true). Only few scenes added to the new script which is now written by the Director(Sameer Thahir) and Unni.R !
Chappa Kurishu is the debut film of cinematographer-turned-director Sameer Thahir who is famous for his work in films like Big B. The movie which has Fahad Fasil, Vineeth Srinivasan, Ramya Nambeeshan, Roma and Nivedha in important roles didn't make up to the hype it created. Although the film is a different attempt, the slow narration and the simple thread spoiled the show with about 2 hours of running time.Earlier, when the trailer of Chappa Kurishu is outed, there were controversies that it is adopted from the trailer of Hollywood movie 21 Grams. Also, there were reports that the movie has theme taken from the Korean Film Handphone. Anyway, the news is not good for the whole Mollywood industry, what you think?
