Famous Malayalam Music director Johnson ( Johnson Master)  passed away today. He died today, thursday at 8.30 PM due to heart attack in Chennai. he was 58. Johnson Master is now no more in this earth to create soulful music to Malayalees. The creator of many popular and Melodious Songs in Malayalam, with about more than 300 songs in his credit, passed away this evening due to heart attack in Chennai. Johnson Master started his career as an assistant to Devarajan Master in 1970. Later, he debuted in Malayalam through Bharathan's Aaravam in 1978. Then he is noted for his lyrical and thematic compositions. Some of his important works are Namukku Parkkan Munthiri Thoppukal, Oru Minnaminunginte Nurunguvettam, Vadakkunokkiyantram, Perumthachan, Amaram, Manichitrathazhu, Njan Gandharvan, Ponthan Mada, and Bhoothakkannadi. 

He won the National Awards two times and Kerala State Awards five times. Johnson won the National Film Award for Best Background Score for the films Ponthan Mada (1994) and Sukrutham (1995). He has received Kerala State Film Award for Best Music Director, for the films Ormakkayi (1982), Vadakkunokkiyantram and Mazhavil Kavadi (1989), and Angane Oru Avadhikkalathu (1999). 

The last works from Johnson Master are Photographer, Gulmohar, Vellathooval and Nadakame Ulakam. There are also some films in Pipeline like Anandhan Pillai Adhava Arjunan Pillai, Navagatharkku Swagatham, Bharyamar Adharikkapedunnu and Khilafath.

His death is a big loss to Malayalam Music Industry. May his soul rest in Peace.
