Everyone is wandering about the box office report and first day collection of Swetha Menon's Rathinirvedam 2 which is a remake of yesteryear superhit film by the same name. Now the Malayalam film industry declared Rathinirvedam 2 as a super hit. There are only some movies in the list which are declared as superhits in the first week itself. What are the reason behind this commercial success of this average film in box office? Let us analyse the collection the film got from the theaters and from satellite rights and other sources.
The New Rathinirvedam which has sensational hot actress, now very popular for selecting her role, Swetha Menon as Rathichechi, was made on a budget of approximately Rs.1.5 Crore. The film made on such a low budget was sold the television rights for Rs.1.50 Cr, before the release itself. The India domestic and DVD/VCD rights went for another Rs.50 Lakhs. So, the film would be profitable on the day of release itself to its producers. The film produced by Menaka Sureshkumar of Revathy Kalamandhir, was released on June 16 in about 70 screens with an extraordinary openings because of its sizzling posters and theme. Even though the film didn't delivered the expected results in its making, the film collected a fantastic Rs.1.15 Cr as distributors share from 70 screens in the first week itself. So, it is expected that the film would make a total share of Rs.2.50 from the theatrical run only.
It is now seen as an amazing fact that the producer could collect a total of Rs.3.15 Crore in a week's time from a film, so incredible.
